Remington 770 Bolt Won T Go In. As i attempted to eject the second round and clear the 770, the bolt would not pull back. Brought it to a more gun savy friend.

There Is A Good Inch Of Bolt That Wont Go Into The Chamber.
Sounds like something is stuck in font of or behind the bolt lugs beat it open with a chunk of wood and look in there with a light. Remington 770, anyone else have problems with the bolt coming out? 1.take off the trigger group, 2.load a dummy round in magazine, 3.pull the bolt completely back.

I haven't shot it yet. By the way, the photographs are very small. Btw, always run the pad of your little finger tip through the ejection port into the bolt and lug channels of the action, feeling for bolt/screw protrusions before even installing the bolt.
I Had It Out Of The Safe To Look At It Tonight, And Discovered That The Slide Does Not Lock Up Solid When I Rack It.
With repeated soakings and working the release all the accumulated oil,dirt and other assorted crud will be flushed out. A little shooters choice grease and you should be good to go. I was putting a new stock on it and as i wiped her down i noticed the bolt was locked halfway.

There are plenty of economy/entry level. Although i haven't fired it yet i've noticed that out of all the bolt action rifles i own, the remington bolt seems to be way too tight. There is a little play but it won't open or close.
Squirt It As Heavy As You Want, It Won't Hurt Anything.
My friends 770, we were at the range and i went to eject a spent shell, and the whole bolt assembly came out and fell appart, on futher inspection there were metal chips out of the bolt release. Be a man and grab a bat. Also, it’s not uncommon to find rear rail screws (longer) in front rail holes (shorter).
